From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Flight instruction for a tail wheel endorsement. CFI flew in right seat, there were no brakes on the right side. CFI took controls for first couple landings, then let student take controls after that. Student completed 6 landings with limited issues. On the final landing, student allowed aircraft to settle onto the tail wheel. The aircraft then swerved to the left a little the aggressively to the right. CFI pushed left peddle and the aircraft started to correct, but not fast enough and the aircraft exited the runway striking a small snow bank. This caused the aircraft to overturn upside down. Power and fuel were turned off and CFI and student exited aircraft. No injuries were sustained.
