From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

April 21, 2023, aircraft sustained a hard landing at Hollister airport (kcvh). Pilot flew under VFR weather conditions with CFI pilot for biennial flight review. Aircraft departed home base krhv and flew to kcvh for practical portion of biennial flight review. After performing steep turns, departure stalls, approach to landng maneuvers, the pilot approached Hollister runway 31 for a simulated loss of engine power landing. In the turn from base to short final at an altitude approximately of 300 feet, speed was noted to be 85 knots. The aircraft was level wings, tracking the center line of the runway on landing. Aircraft engine operated normal at idle after landing. Left and right main landing gear wheel assemblies and wheel pants were damaged (both were bent upwards from MLG fixed struts) and left and right wing lower surfaces sustained a few small punctures from wheel pants breaking off. No persons were injured.
