From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 04/30/2023 aircraft was at 7000 feet MSL when the manifold pressure guage began to show a rapid increase for unknown reasons. The pilot reduced power to keep the mainfold pressure from exceeding limits. This reduction in power did not allow the pilot to maintain level flight so the pilot elected to make an emergency landing at kmlb. During the landing the pilot landed hard and the aircraft experienced minor damage to the left gear leg and break assembly. The pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft and experienced no injuries.
