From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1230 local time on may 18, 2023, a Cessna 150F airplane, serial number 15063440, privacy data omitted departed from Aero Lake Estates (30IS) in Genoa, IL with a pilot and a passenger. During the flight the pilot became concerned because of an uneven fuel indication between the left and right fuel tanks. The pilot then decided to fly towards dekalb, IL. While enroute to dekalb, IL the aircraft lost all electrical power. The pilot then decided to fly back to the departure airport of Aero Lake Estates (30IS) in Genoa, IL. The pilot reported a huge downdraft hitting the plane while coming in to land and decided to go around and attempt another landing. The pilot reported to proceed straight and gain speed but was unable to generate enough lift and lost control of the aircraft. The aircraft came to rest nose down in the grass of the northeast corner of the airfield near the designation marking of runway 20.

The aircraft sustained substantial damage. The airframe sustained damage to left and right wing tips and inboard sections of both wings exhibited skin wrinkling consistent with impact. The engine mount sustained substantial damage as the nose landing gear was partialy separated from the engine mount due to impact with the ground. Propeller was secure to the hub. Both blades exhibited scuffing consistent with impact and one blade was bent near mid-span.
