From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On may 29th 2023 a Cessna with two souls on board attempted a grass field landing near Nunn, Colorado to attend a fly in. While on final approach the PIC stated that his 82 year old flight instructor continued to teach as they neared the field. This broke the pilots attention to detail and he failed to do the "gump" landing check. This included putting the gear down. Aircraft touched down on its belly and the prop impacted the ground causing the engine to stop. As the aircraft slid to a stop the pilot looked down and realized he had not put the gear down. Aircraft was lifted and the gear came down normally when selected down. No injuries and NTSB has determined this to be an incident.
