From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 06, 2023, the pilot was operating part 91 performing a r-nav approach into Rutherfordton, NC airfield (fqd) with 1 pax. Purpose of flight was to accumlate flight time in make/model and practice "hood flying" IFR approaches. As pilot approached final, pilot ran through a customized checklist (not from the manufacturer) and asked the pax to ensure that when the glideslope was captured to remind the pilot to extend gear. When event occurred, both pilot and pax became distracted focusing on the functionality of the autopilot system and did not deploy and/or confirm landing gear position prior to touch down resulting propeller striking the rwy surface and minor damage to underside of fuselage.
