From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was flying his AL18 super cub privacy data omitted from 04FA to X51 to purchase fuel. The winds were light and out of the west on departure, when he arrived at X51 winds were light and out of the south. He decided to land on runway 28 to practice my crosswind landings.

The approach was normal and stable, after touchdown there was a gust of wind that caught him off guard. The aircraft started to swing into the wind (ground loop) in an attempt to stop the rotation, he applied the brakes. He was too aggressive on the brakes and the aircraft nosed

Over. It was a low-speed event with minimal damage to the aircraft. He was not hurt, shut down and exited the aircraft.
