From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot statement:

X26D ksgj. Flight following turned me over the tower, was cleared to land R31. Coming in ran gumps 3X. Gear lights all green. Approach speed 100-105 KTS. In ground effect over numbers. My nose suddenly pitched up and I ascended. Tried to push the nose down but fell suddenly and landed tail low striking prop (pusher airplane), tires popped and I lost directional control. Plane was careening to right off of runway. Black runway struck left of fuselage ripping left canard and gers… l main wing … … … I quickly shut down everything than turned back on main/avi to speak to tower. Than emergency ppl arrived and I exited airplane.
