From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot flying was receiving instruction from CFI in back seat. Pilot performed several successful touch and go landings prior to the event. After performing a landing on runway 23 at mri the aircraft drifted right and the CFI called for more left rudder and pilot complied. After the right wheel departed the runway the CFI called for left brake and as pilot flying complied the aircraft struck the breakaway sign marking the taxiway and the aircraft stopped on taxiway golf. Pilot then taxied back to parking and reported the event to the tower. There was no damage to the aircraft.
