From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During the incident sequence, the aircraft encountered unforecasted severe turbulence at 4000’ MSL while being vectored for an arrival into northwest Arkansas national airport (kxna). When the severe turbulence was encountered, the pilot was bounced upwards against his seatbelt while the sun visor simultaneously fell into the down position. This caused the pilots head to contact the sun visor which created a small laceration on the pilot’s forehead. The pilot notified approach control about the turbulence and was cleared to a lower altitude. The pilot was able to control the bleeding and land at the destination airport. The pilot conducted a post flight inspection and found no damage to the aircraft. Visual meteorological condition prevailed at the time of the incident with surface winds at the destination airport reporting 18 knots gusting to 24 knots.

As the FAA filed it
