From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The student pilot had just landed after completing her first solo cross country flight. There was an aircraft blocking the ramp entrance that had been used for all previous flights so the PIC chose to enter the ramp through an unfamiliar entrance which required taxi between a hangar and a parked aircraft. While watching the parked aircraft off the left wing tip the right wing struck a hangar. Distance between parked aircraft and hangar 45 feet, incident aircraft wing span 36 feet. Damage to the aircraft included wing tip, wing leading edge and damage to the outboard wing rib.
