From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 7/8/2023 the PIC took off in an amphibious aircraft from a private runway in forest lake, MN. While flying low over a neighborhood in Lino Lakes, MN the PIC saw some kids in the back yard of a home that bordered on a water retention pond and wanted to show off by performing a touch and go. The aircraft attempted to land on the retention pond, flipped over and later sank. The PIC stated he forgot the landing gear was down and the aircraft flipped over on touch down. The PIC was uninjured and was able to swim to shore. Several days later the aircraft was flipped right side up and moved to the shore of the retention pond by family and friends of the owner. Law enforcement was able to take pictures of the aircraft at that time. The aircraft was identified as a mariner, manufactured by privacy data omitted of forest lake, MN and displays no registration number.
