At approximately 2040 an Eclipse EA500 landed on runway 35 at Norwood airport (owd) and struck a deer near the 1000 foot marker. Inspector larivee was notified by the roc at approximately 2300. One pilot and two passengers on board, no injuries reported. A conference call between the roc, airport manager and FAA took place at this time. The airport manager went to the scene secured the aircraft as it was for investigation.

Inspector privacy data omitted arrive on site at 0630 and was taken to the aircraft by the airport manager. Aircraft lay aproximately 750 from the end of runway 35 to the right of the centerline. The radome was crushed from below and the nose landing gear was broken and fold aft. Investigation by inspector privacy data omitteddetermined the following:
• Aircraft struck what looks to be a yearling deer at approximately 1000 down runway 35. The initial strike was clearly defined by the blood splatter and the pattern of the remains on the runway.
• The damage to the radome and wrinkling of the nose skin suggest the deer was crushed under the radome and then rolled under the aircraft and catching on the nose gear.
• Evidence further points to the nose wheel turning approximately 180 degrees, so that the right hand nose for was facing forward. Black skid marks run from the initial strike to the junction of taxiway A2. This is the most likely point of the nose gear collapse.
• From A2 until the end location a white skid mark was observed. This mark was approximates 4-6 inches wide from A2 until the 2000 ft. mark; then the skid became progressively more narrow. Evidence suggest the aircraft was skidding on the right wheel half until the rim was worn off at 2000 ft. and then continued to skid on the right nose fork until it too was ground nearly off.
• The nose wheel was found at the junction of the two runways. All damage to the nose wheel was to the sidewall confirming above statements.
• Aircraft came to rest approximately 750 from the end of runway 35.
• No evidence of damage to aircraft belly not of any wing strike.
Inspector privacy data omittedinterviewed the pilot. They stated there were no issues with the aircraft prior to the strike and the landing was textbook. They stated they noticed the deer off the left side of the runway just as the nose wheel touched down. Pilot said the next moment they were hitting the deer and he felt the nose drop a few seconds after the strike. Pilot reported strike to the tower and all three people departed the aircraft on the runway unharmed. Pilot report is consistent with the evidence found at the scene.
Inspectorprivacy data omitted reported the deer strike to the NTSB agent on duty and they determined the strike to be an occurrence.

INSPECTOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ARRIVE ON SITE AT 0630 AND WAS TAKEN TO THE AIRCRAFT BY THE AIRPORT MANAGER. AIRCRAFT LAY APROXIMATELY 750 FROM THE END OF RUNWAY 35 TO THE RIGHT OF THE CENTERLINE. THE RADOME WAS CRUSHED FROM BELOW AND THE NOSE LANDING GEAR WAS BROKEN AND FOLD AFT. INVESTIGATION BY INSPECTOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^DETERMINED THE FOLLOWING:
INSPECTOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^INTERVIEWED THE PILOT.
INSPECTOR^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ REPORTED THE DEER STRIKE TO THE NTSB AGENT ON DUTY AND THEY DETERMINED THE STRIKE TO BE AN OCCURRENCE.
