From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Friday, July 21st, aircraft landed at muskogee airport at about 10:30 am due to weather blocking flight path. The destination was krcm - skyhaven airport west of warrensburg MO. The pilot waited at muskogee for about 3 hours before

Taking off at about 1:40 pm in a nnw direction. After

About 10 minutes at 6000 feet the pilot noticed a red warning light, although the eis showed nothing was wrong with the oil pressure, water temperature, however the oil tempurature gauge was pegged at 320F. Prior to leveling of at 6000 feet it had been reading a normal 255F. The pilot reduced power and started a glide to take all load off of the engine so it could cool down. The pilot checked the GPS for the nearest airport for an emergency landing. That airport was pryor Oklahoma, H71, mid-america industrial airport. About 2 minutes after turning towards pryor the engine shuddered and locked up. The pilot landed the aircraft in a field near Chouteau, OK at crossroads e/w 580 and n/s 3431. The left main gear touched first. The ground was soft and muddy from all the recent rain causing the left gear to plow deep into the ground and spun the aircraft to the left 180 degrees, bending the nose gear to the right, and came to a quick stop nose down.
