From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 07/25/2023 privacy data omitted was conducting flight operations at bpt. After a touch and go the pilot in command noticed a white puff of smoke out the left window and decided to terminate the flight and land the aircraft. PIC noticed that on touch down the left wing continued to dip until the left main landing gear strut housing contacted the runway. The PIC maintained control of the aircraft until is stopped on the runway. When emergency personnel arrived the aircraft was resting the left main landing gear strut housing but the wheel, strut, and brake assembly was missing. Missing parts landed in a driveway 1 mile north east of bpt and were recovered. Upon inspection it was determined by FAA investigators that the left hand main landing gear strut housing attachment point where it connects to the torque links had failed.
