From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After completing 13 application loads the pilot rinsed the tank and returned to home airport. The runway is 2500 feet long by 20 feet wide, 1500 feet of the runway is gravel transitioning to asphalt. The pilot performed a 2-point landing, as the tailwheel touched down the aircraft yawed to the left. The aircraft left the paved runway surface into a narrow strip of grass then into a soft plowed field causing the aircraft to flip over. Damage to the aircraft included rudder, vertical stabilizer, bent wing strut, upper wing, and propeller strike. PIC stated he is used to landing on a wide grass runway that is more forgiving than this narrow-paved runway.

As the FAA filed it
