From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During the second attempted touch and go for the day the PIC touched down then applied full power. The aircraft started drifting to the right leaving the paved runway surface and striking a runway sign then spinning to the left and coming to an abrupt stop. No injuries. Marks on the runway showed the right main tire locked up as the aircraft departed the runway at an angle of approximately 30 degrees before striking the runway sign with the left main tire. Damage to the aircraft included propeller strike, dent in lower engine cowling, left main landing gear mounting bolt sheered off allowing the landing gear spring assembly to rotate causing damage to main landing gear bulkhead assembly.
