What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Aircraft approaching to land with a slight crosswind. Pilot stated he made a normal approach and touchdown (with no bounce) but when the nose wheel touched the ground a spring on the nose gear failed causing the nose wheel assembly to fold backwards. The resulting nose-down attitude caused the wooden propeller to strike the runway surface. No injuries, and aircraft was moved by hand off the runway.
