From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On September 30th, 2023, at 1806 local the aircraft took off from rhode island tf green international airport (kpvd), departing to the north enroute to Laconia Municipal. The aircraft maintained VFR but used radar services via ATC flight following. At 1919, the aircraft was 6.9 miles southeast of the concord VOR, and decided to terminate flight following, proceeding to squawk VFR. This marked the last clearance that was given by ATC.

At 2000 local entered the airspace of klci (Laconia Municipal), flying the traffic pattern distance and altitude for a left downwind for runway 26, according to ADS-B data. After passing the ridgeline located at the end of the left downwind leg of the traffic pattern, the aircraft then started a left turn over to base, over the lake. The aircraft began a decent flying past the point an aircraft would normally turn to final, before beginning a sharp right turn as it continued in its decent. ADS-B data was then lost and the aircraft accident was reported to have occured at 2015 local.
