From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC started aircraft on kbfi south-west ramp, received ATIS information and contacted kbfi-ground to receive

Taxi clearance. PIC was offered the option to take-off from B4 in addition to standard B1. PIC understood the intent of the controller to be efficient with traffic management, and agreed to take the mid-field B4 take-off. PIC then opened up the taxiway diagram on my electronic flight bag, as he taxied from the south-west ramp to B4 via b. upon reaching B4, PIC turned right, in-place, to do the run-up. Upon finishing the run-up, PIC had a loss of situational awareness and mistook the south edge marking of B4 to be the taxiway center line and oriented the aircraft to it and sought tower clearance for take-off. The tower cleared PIC for take-off at B4 and PIC started rolling forward on the southern edge marking to reach the runway centerline. As PIC reached the runway, he heard some metallic squeaking noises. After lining up on the 14R centerline and looked right-rear side to review the situation, PIC suspected that the right landing gear had had a collision with a taxiway light. While PIC was still stationary on the runway, and was assessing the situation, tower advised that PIC had a taxiway light collision.PIC requested permission to get off the runway 14R at B5 for inspection of damage and tower advised to do a 180 at B4 and contact ground upon exiting runway 14R.

As the FAA filed it
