From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft had landed at Hammond municipal airport (khdc) on runway 18 with the landing gear retracted. There was 1 person on board with his dog and no reported injuries. Primary damage to the aircraft underside and propeller was significant but categorized as minor. The pilot provided a statement via email where he mentioned that he thought his gear was extended prior to touchdown but realized otherwise after coming to a stop. The aircraft recovery team reported that once the aircraft was lifted by a crane the landing gear extended and locked normally, then was towed to parking. A review of the aircraft records revealed that it was within the required 12 and 24 month inspections. A review of the pilot's airman records revealed that he had undergone a flight review the day prior to the incident.
