From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was in cruise flight at 8500 feet, when an alternator inoperation light came on. Pilots began decent and as the aircraft was decending through 4000 the pilot inputted a quarter to half inch movement on the control yoke when the controls became light followed by a violent vibration of the aircraft and a fluctuation of the control yoke and aircraft. It took both pilots to regain control of the aircraft. Aircraft landed without further incident once control was gained. When the pilots exited the aircraft, they found a crack in the upper middle section of the windshied, the baggage door tab bent and the stabilator tab rod assy sheared in half. NTSB took possession of the broken stabilator rod assy and it was sent to the lab for analysis.
