From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 01/17/2024 a Beechcraft baron 58P aircraft, operated by a private pilot and the sole occupant on board, landed at the Cape Fear Regional Jetport (ksut) on runway 5 and retracted the landing gear after touchdown and during the rollout. The right main gear and nose went into the well and the aircraft lost control and came to rest on the side of the runway. There were no reported injuries. During the landing roll out, the pilot intended to raise the flap handle, but raised the gear handle instead. The nose and right main collapsed and the left main stayed down and this caused the plane to veer to the right.
