From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On January 30, 2024 a raptor jr. privacy data omittedDeparted santa monica airport with two soles on board. The aircraft proceeded in a northwesterly direction toward Camarillo. At approximately 10-11 miles east of Camarillo Airport the ADS-B surveillance was lost. The aircrafts last reported altitude was approximately 3800 ft. AGL. The crew stated (see crew statements) they lost all aircraft power and the engine had stopped. The aircraft headed directly west toward the Camarillo Airport and a plowed cilantro filed. The aircraft cleared the water reclamation plant western perimeter chain link fence by about 5 ft. they had already extended the landing gear and clipped some bushes/trees directly west of the perimeter fence and initially hit the ground (across the plow rows). There were three distinct impacts. During these strikes/bounces the canopy, forward canard along with nose landing gear assembly, its actuator and associated structure were ripped from the aircraft. Both main gears were still attached. On the last strike/bounce the aircraft spun around and came to rest 4.5 miles from Camarillo Airport facing the northeast, right side up in the plowed cilantro field. The aircraft took on 36 gallons of fuel at santa monica airport and still had approximately 30 gallons remaining upon our arrival. There was very little fuel leakage. The aircraft throttle was at “full power” and both engine ignition switches were in “off” position.

As the FAA filed it

ON JANUARY 30, 2024 A RAPTOR JR. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^DEPARTED SANTA MONICA AIRPORT WITH TWO SOLES ON BOARD.
