From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During instructional flight on approach to runway 24 at pou in the process of doing touch and go landings, the aircraft's main landing gear hit the airport's perimeter fence. The impact severed both main landing gear strut sissor links. This caused both wheel assemblies to be hanging only by their respective brake hoses.

The control tower confirmed the damage and suggested to the pilot that he remain airborne until emergency vehicles and equipment could be in place.

Aircraft landed on the remaining strut housings of the main landing gear and the undamaged nose gear.
