From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The PIC made an uneventful full stop landing on a sandbar located on the Missouri side of the Mississippi river. During the subsequent departure roll the left wheel encountered an area of deep loose sand. The aircraft came to an abrupt stop and tipped onto its nose, resulting in damage to the propeller. The PIC and passenger exited the aircraft, pulled the tail down to the ground, and left the area.

The next day the PIC returned to the aircraft with the intention of replacing the propeller and flying the aircraft. The PIC found the aircraft laying inverted on the sandbar. The aircraft was turned over to the insurance company and transported to salvage via helicopter and flatbed truck.
