From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Subject entered the property around 0015 on 26 feb 2024 near privacy data omitted. Subject was seen walking around a few aircraft and even entered another C340 and turned on power and the position lights came on.

Subject left that aircraft and settled on privacy data omitted. Subject was seen on camera entering and exiting privacy data omitted a few times before he was able to start the #2 engine. Once the #2 engine was started, subject advanced the #2 throttle and made a sharp left turn and went straight into the grass and the left wing struck the concrete light pole and most of the left wing was destroyed. The right engine made contact with the chain link fence and had a sudden stoppage that destroyed the #2 propeller and damaged the engine. Right wing was intact, and the fence was damaged. Subject fled the scene.
