From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed venice, FL enroute to monroe, NC. IFR was filed; however, conditions were VMC. The pilot received an “overvoltage” annunciation. The alternator was turned off and during a subsequent reset of the electrical system, the left EFIS screen failed followed immediately by the right EFIS screen. A puff of smoke and acrid odor was observed in proximity of the right screen. All electrical equipment was secured with the exception of one nav/comm and transponder. An emergency was declared at approximately 1622. The flight continued uneventfully until landing at 1646.
