From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The weather at the time of the aircraft’s arrival at hhg was instrument meteorological conditions (IMC). The pilot reported that on final approach for runway 28 the aircraft broke out of IMC conditions approximately 50’ above minimums. The pilot reported that upon crossing the runway 28 threshold the aircraft was higher than normal and 10 knots too fast. The pilot reduced power to descend the aircraft and reduce speed. The aircraft landed hard and bounced, then landed hard again and under a sideload. During rollout from landing the right main landing gear collapsed. The airplane came to rest on the right side of runway 28. The aircraft sustained minor damage and the pilot was uninjured.
