From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 04/24/2024 at Emporia Municipal Airport (emp) in a Rans S-6ES conducting landing practice on runway 19 at approximately 17:30 local time. During the flare the pilot made the decision to go around. The pilot applied full power and lowered the nose but did not increase enough right rudder causing the aircraft to yaw to the left. The pilot overcorrected with aileron causing right wing to contact the ground. The pilot then reduced power to idle and came to rest on the east side of runway 19. Damage was caused to the right wing, propeller, and cowling.
