From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On April 25, 2024 a DA20 was taxing at Pueblo memorial airport, CO (kpub). The aircraft experienced a strong gust which led to the aircraft exiting the taxiway and onto the adjacent grass area. There were no injuries and no damage to the aircraft.

The instructor and student had landed on runway 8L and were taxiing westbound back to the ramp area. The pilot felt that the aircraft was being suddenly pulled to the left. Application of right rudder and right brake did little to correct the direction of the aircraft. It was concluded that a wind gust shown to be from 150 at 27 knots had pushed the vertical surface area of the tail enough to point the nose of the aircraft to the left. The throttle had been closed prior to leaving the narrow taxiway yet the aircraft ultimately rolled onto the grassy area next to the taxiway. The pilots were not injured and examination revealed no damage to the aircraft or malfunction of controls.

As the FAA filed it
