From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

A Cirrus SR22T was being flown from klft to kdtn under CFR part 91 rules. The pilot was flying with one passenger onboard. On final approach to kdtn, the aircraft struck a deer while landing rwy 23, damaging the LH MLG. The pilot was able to taxi the aircraft to the ramp for shutdown without further incident. There were no reported injuries after the incident occured. The aircraft was towed to an FBO hangar for subsequent inspections and repair the following day. This incident was upgraded to an accident a few weeks later after Cirrus engineering deemed the aircraft damage as substantial.
