From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Loaded up the passangers at Kijik Lake. Gave safety briefing. Warmed up engine to 40 degrees. Engine oil was at correct temp. Ran carb heat to approprite temps. Turned carb heat off, cycled prop 4 times looking at rpm’s, mp and oil pressure. After the prop cycle checked mags to ensure they were within tolerence. After the run up went to the farthest edge of the lake and took off. Shortly after take off adjusted mp, rpms and flaps for climb. Around 3 miles after take off felt mp fall at which time went full prop and full power. The engine had a small spool up then mp fell and executed an emergency landing.
