From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed krts, during climb at 1500 feet AGL the alternator warning came on and the pilot made a left turn to try to return to the airport. During the turn the engine failed and the aircraft gear was not locked in the down position due to the electrical failure with no time to manually pump the gear down causing a gear up landing under no power. During investigation we found the left tank had approximately 6 to 7 gallons total at the time of the accident right hand tank was empty.
