From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Upon approach to glider port for runway 35, landing gliders in front noted via radio a 180 degree wind shift. Amended pattern to use runway 17 instead. Flaps were set to position 5, acft trimmed to 60 knots. Just at touch down, a crosswind

Gust lifted the acft & the right wing came into contact with the tall grass & started a yaw to the right. Corrected with rudder & left stick. Acft yawed left & departed the runway into the grass on the left. The grass grabbed the left wing & spun around, then the tail boom hit. Acft then rolled backwards a few yards before coming to rest.
