From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft, which is hangared at Scappoose Airport (spb), took off around 11AM departing runway 15 to the east where it flew about an hour to cougar lake ,Washington and back. The pilot didn't like how traffic was flying in the pattern so he waited until traffic cleared to land the aircraft. The aircraft was landed left downwind on runway 15, slipping to shed altitude. The landing was reported straight and smooth. The pilot reports he immediately felt a pronounced tailwheel shimmy as soon as the tail came down. And the aircraft began veering hard to the right. Brake and steering input was unable to stop the righ turn and the aircraft left the runway after about 1500 feet, into the grass between runway and taxiway. At this point the aircraft pitched up onto it's nose and left wing, breaking the left wing spar and coming to rest in that position with the tail in the air.
