From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot had conducted a number of landings for his own training. On the final landing he was distracted by a call from ATC re a mower in the undershoot of the runway and believes he may therefore have carried a little excess speed onto the runway. He touched down in a three point attitude with a quartering tailwind. The aircraft started to yaw to the right and a larger than required correction was applied. This resulted in a rapid ground loop to the left and the right hand wing tip struck the runway. ATC notified the roc who contacted the FAA ASI on duty. The damage to the aircraft was superficial, as confirmed by the amp who conducts the routine maintainance on the aircraft, and the pictures sent to the ASI.

As the FAA filed it
