From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot was attempting to land on grass runway 24. The aircraft was approximately 5' from the ground when the aircraft settled. As the pilot applied power, the aircraft landed hard and the lmlg oleo strut, lower attach bracket became broken on landing. The oleo strut damaged the left wing struts, forcing the aircraft off the runway, due to the gear compression. The pilot did not have time to pull power until the aircraft was off the runway. The prop has no evidence of a prop strike.
