From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilots statement: while returning to kggg on a dogleg base to runway 13, switched tanks from the right lower to the main tank which is required for all takeoffs and landings but was a second late as the right lower tank was either out of fuel or the fuel pickup was unported due to the descent angle.

Looking at runway 13 he felt it wise to land in a field that was just off the right wing.

Inspector on scene determined the off-airport landing resulted in no damage or injuries.

Inspected left wing fuel tank and noted near full fuel, right wing tank noted empty.
