From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On scene investigation included interview of PIC and review of incident scene. Issued pilot compliance philosophy brochure with pilot's bill of rights prior to interview. Pilot stated he departed kads and after having some autopilot problems decided to proceed to kswi to pick up some fuel. Pilot conducted one touch and go without issue but on the second landing he stated that he forgot to put the gear down and landed with the gear up. He stated that he has a gear warning horn but approximately six weeks prior he noted it was inoperative after the aircraft had undergone a transponder check. The gear warning horn breaker had been pulled since it was inoperative so the horn never sounded. Pilot stated he had one passenger on board and likely he was distracted as they had been talking. He said he had used a checklist and typically does a gumps check but failed to on this landing. Review of aircraft showed the landing gear handle in the up position and the circuit breaker for the gear warning horn pulled. Aircraft was able to be lifted and the gear swung down without issue. Review of pilot records show PIC was current and qualified to operate the aircraft. Review of maintenance records show aircraft was in compliance with inspection requirements. Consulted with NTSB and this was determined to be an incident based on the damage noted. Aircraft was released to privacy data omitted.
