From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot made an error in judgement in fuel planning and ran out of fuel from the left fuel tank, causing the engine to stop producing power. Loss of power occurred during turn from base to final. Pilot immediately called for emergency landing and glided to a field short of runway, landing without any injury or damage. He stated he had 6 gallons in the right fuel tank. He was the only occupant in the aircraft and no damage to the aircraft from the landing in the empty ag field. He has since done additional training with his CFI. Operations inspector determined no cfr's were violated. Pilot has no previous accidents, incidents, or enforcements. Compliance action (counseling) completed.
