From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1815 local time on 10/7/2024 an aircraft had a hard landing off airport on a mountain ridge and sustained substantial damage. The pilot stated that the oil pressure on the engine was low and decided to make a precautionary landing on a mountain ridge. The pilot reported that the aircraft hit hard on the right main gear when landing. The right main gear was pushed up into the fuselage and bound up the flight controls so the aircraft had to be airlifted out.
