From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On October 17th, 2024, the accident aircraft attempted to depart runway 05 at ktri. The aircraft climbed to approximately 15 feet above the runway when the pilot encountered a rapid left yaw of the aircraft. The pilot attempted to regain directional control with additional right rudder and adding right rudder trim but was unsuccessful. The pilot decided to attempt a landing on runway 05 instead of continuing the climb as the airspeed was decaying. The aircraft was not aligned with the runway. Upon contact with runway 05, the aircraft departed the runway into a grassy median left of runway 05. The aircraft's nose gear and right main landing gear collapsed. The right-wing sustained impact damage on the outer leading edge.
