From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The accident aircraft was attempting a landing at keko on runway 12 due to the wind being reported as 180 degrees at 5 KTS with no gusts. As the aircraft approached runway 12, the mishap pilot set up for a three-point landing that initially appeared to be normal. As the aircraft rotated to a three-point attitude, the pilot noticed a high rate of decent and proceeded to correct the condition before deciding to perform a go around. The aircraft touched down firmly at full throttle and struggled to get into the air. Flaps were set at 40 degrees. As the aircraft ascended, the right wing lifted, and the aircraft rotated to the left towards a row of hangars. The pilot performed aircraft inputs to avoid hitting the hangars and the aircraft touched the ground and spun to the left. The right gear broke off under the aircraft and the right wing impacted the ground causing damage to the wing and right aileron.

As the FAA filed it
