From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft experianced a rough running engine just after take-off from runway 18L. The engine shut off for approximately 1 second and began to run again roughly. Pilot declared an emergency and returned back to the airport landing on runway 36R. When the aircraft touched down, an approximate 12 knot tail wind was present causing the aircraft to experiance a ground loop. Aircraft departed the runway into the grass approximately 10 feet on the east side of the runway and came to rest facing south. Aircraft sustained substantial damage as both left and right lower wing tips were bent up approximately 5 degrees due to impacting the ground during the ground loop. The left wheel was damaged as approximately 40 percent of the outer half of the wheel was broke and the tire remained on the wheel.
