From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot took off from aberdeen airport (U36) to practice landings in a dry lakebed 8 miles north east of U36. The pilot landed three times in the dry lakebed, on the fourth attempt. The pilot touched down on main wheels for 150FT without stopping and took off for a fifth attempt. On the fifth attempt upon touch down the nose of the aircraft continued to push over and the pilot was unable to correct the push over with backward pressure on the control stick. The propeller subsequently struck a rock causing the aircraft to roll over onto it’s top. The aircraft came to a stop upside down. Pilot record search found pilot was properly certificated for private pilot tailwheel operations. Aircraft records found satisfactory for flight operations.

As the FAA filed it
