From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

1. Aircraft privacy data omitted/builder bled brake system before flight.

2. After exiting runway at San Carlos, pilot's left brake was inoperative. Braking action at taxi speed caused aircraft to veer right off taxiway into grass. Prop struck sign.

3. After incident, pilot/builder found right side rudder/brake pedals operated normally, but left side left pedal was disconnected from brake master cylinder. The AN365-1032 nut fastening brake master cylinder to left rudder pedal had fallen off.

4. Pilot/builder found root cause to be improper torque of nut after brake bleeding maintenance operation.
