From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On November 10, 2024, the FAA received an incident report regarding a helicopter privacy data omitted in Boron CA that while towing survey equipment on a line, struck powerlines causing some damage to the power pole and causing a fire on the survey equipment. The aircraft landed without incident, no injuries or damage to the helicopter. The NTSB and FAA were contacted regarding the incident. On November 14, 2024, a aviation safety inspector from the riverside FAA FSDO contacted the privacy data omitted of the helicopter operation involved in the incident for additional information. The privacy data omitted stated that the pilot of the helicopter, privacy data omitted, allowed the detection equipment to get too low causing some damage to the power pole brackets, but not the cables themselves. This equipment was used for a geophysical survey for skycan corp and the usgs. The equipment itself was damaged. The privacy data omitted is still waiting for sce for a final evaluation of the damage amount; however this appears to be minimal. Safety concerns were discussed with the pilot and company privacy data omitted; however there are no further findings and the investigation is considered closed. See sas number T-WP21-FY25-0325 for additional informatiion.
