From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot declared an emergency due to oil leak and loss of oil pressure. Pilot attempted to make it to the airport but the engine seized and pilot made an emergency landing in an open field 4 miles east of eba. No damage or injuries. Investigation revealed that the threads failed in the crankcase where the oil pressure fitting is attached causing a loss of oil pressure and subsequent engine failure. A service difficulty report is being generated for the engine as it was on it's third flight after overhaul.
