From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Per the regional operations center 12/30/2024 @ 6:40 local EST describing they had called the zjx omic as 2356Z and reported an aircraft incident at the Brunswick (bqk) airport occurred at approximately 2311Z. A Mooney MO20 experienced a gear collapse while landing runway 7 at bqk. The runway was subsequently NOTAM closed. There was 1 POB with no reported injuries. The extent of the damage was unknown. Due to the location of the aircraft, it was determined to gather all data virtually. Per the Brunswick airport operations manager, Mooney MO20 experienced a main landing gear incident upon landing and was resting on its fuselage centerline of runway 7. The sole occupant was un-injured and was able to exit the aircraft safely. Upon initial inspection, the aircraft propeller was heavily damaged along with the belly of the aircraft. During the landing, the runway experienced 25 propeller strikes with minimal damage occurring. After conferring with the airport operations director, it was determined that a field located recovery team was to move the aircraft from the runway. The Mooney was hoisted into the air where the aircraft landing gear was lowered and locked into position, then towed to the ramp area. Bqk airport personnel completed a foreign object debris (FOD) sweep to clear any debris and sucessfully re-opened the runway at approximately 8:00 pm local EST. Bqk operations manager was instrumental in data gathering and taking of photos per FAA iic requests. Contact was made with the pilot in command to obtain a verbal and written statement of the events as they occurred.
